When my husband and got engaged, we knew we wanted to have a destination wedding. I spent many months thinking about where I should get married. I needed to ensure I could trust a travel agency that was going to be attentive and available for my special day. I spent countless hours finding the agency to fit my needs.
I called Absolute Wedsite as I had their flyer from a bridal show. I immediately knew I found the right group of people because they offered me great wedding packages to suit my needs. I met Raj (manager) and she was friendly and understood my budget and overall vision for my wedding. She assigned me to my travel agent, and then we spent many months thinking about where I should get married. When we decided on the Iberostar Dominicana I made the best choice I could have ever make. I travelled with a group of 54 guest including 7 children. From the moment we pulled up to the resort, my guest were greeted with a refreshing tropical drink in the lobby. I was astounded when we all given suite upgrades. The next day I met my wedding coordinator, Yania. She was incredible!!! She was always available and very professional. She explained the details thoroughly the next day and I felt very confident about the wedding details.
On my wedding day I blown away by the decor of the ceremony and reception space. The pictures do not do the venue justice. It is much more beautiful in real life. The cake and pictures were stunning and the Caribbean Sea was the backdrop out of a movie. All of the staff was incredible!!! Friendly and warm. The food was great with many options. Lobster for dinner ? Yes please!! .The cocktails were fantastic! $12 to $ 15 each in Canada. The entertainment was great and current. Thank you Absolute Wedsite and Iberostar for giving me the wedding of my dreams.
I have booked my wedding with this company and I can’t stress enough how wonderful Sandra is. She is very knowledgeable and she goes over and above the call of duty. Sandra had answers for me before I even knew I had questions. If you are looking for a stress free experience in planning your wedding then Sandra is the lady to contact. I wish she could come with us to Montego Bay for our wedding. She is definitely the go to lady!!
We have just returned from a cruise to celebrate my 70th birthday. The cruise was booked through Absolutewedsite where everything was done with much professionalism. My family and friends, all 14 of us,could not be happier with the cruise our agent recommended, the attention to detail and the service we received. We all had such a great experience that we have contacted our agent to plan another cruise for us for 2016. Thanks much. Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much for everything [Absolute Wedsite]. We had the most wonderful wedding and week away. Here are some of my cousin’s pics he sent me a link for if you want to see one photographers perspective! More to come from resort photographer if you are interested!
Brianna & Greg
Brianna, 32 years old, I grew up with my mom and three younger brothers. I work in an independently owned high-end kitchen store in downtown Oakville, doing everything from serving customers to receiving shipments, and also responsible for visual merchandising, that’s the fun part! Greg is 31 years old, he has a brother and two step sisters. Greg works in fire protection, testing and inspecting commercial buildings.
Greg and I met 6 years ago in September at a mutual friend’s house warming party, where my friend informed me that there were three single guys at the party and I should talk to them. Well it turned out that those guys were Greg and his two best friends. Greg and I began to talk and play pool, which I am terrible at! After that we began to date and became both good friends and now husband and wife.
When Greg and I got engaged, we started to talk about what kind of wedding we would like. We both agreed right away that we did not want as expensive, stressful wedding, and wanted to be able to enjoy ourselves. Three years ago we were invited to a very good friend of mines wedding in the Dominican Republic. It was a small group, mostly family but we were quickly adopted into the group and had such a fun time! We enjoyed vacationing with a group, and the bride and groom were relaxed and able to enjoy their family and closest friends for a week. So being in the age bracket of getting married, we have been to many weddings over the last couple of years and have even been in close friends’ weddings. We had a good sense of what we would like when our special day came. It was quickly decided that since we enjoyed our Dominican experience so much, a destination wedding would be a great idea. Our families were very open to this and as a bonus Greg and I love to travel! Destination wedding it was! So once this was decided the next hurdle was who to book with? That was when Greg’s brother in law directed us to Absolute Wedsite and Raj! Raj and her excellent knowledge of destination weddings made our choice of where to get married much easier. We researched on line as well, but really by going to Raj’s office and seeing all the pictures she has of the different resorts and wedding locations, we narrowed it down to do a few places, slept on it and then got the ball rolling! We chose Barceló Maya Palace; really the reason we chose this resort was because of the beautiful gazebo! But also of course because of all the nice things Raj had to say about how great they are at putting on weddings. We also checked out trip advisor and saw the incredible reviews about the resort itself. We wanted to make sure that all of our guests would have a good time and enjoy the resort. There was a wide range of ages going, and great thing is the resort was filled with things to do for all of them! Once we decided on our wedding day, the gazebo and the judge were booked, and we were set! The invitations were being printed! Well not that any of our guests wanted to wait for their invitations, since they were too excited! It was a fairly smooth process for all of our guests to book with Raj and her team.
The wedding day was just beautiful, it was exactly what we wanted. We were provided with a wedding co-ordinator once we booked. She was wonderful, and everything was decided over email before we arrived. When she met us on our first day at the resort, we went over the details and made sure everything was set. We did have a very minor issue with our wedding location, due to an oversight at the resort, but because we had Raj looking after us the ordeal was very quickly and painlessly fixed! All weddings seem to have some sort of bump witch everyone will forget over the years but you will remember, and be able to laugh when you look back; it was a good memory nonetheless. Greg and I are very happy will all the little touches our wedding co-ordinator at Barceló added to our wedding, the flowers were beautiful, and our guests enjoyed a lovely cocktail party on the roof. Dinner was delicious; they even made us special purple drinks to match our wedding colours. The photographer did an amazing job, his photos were gorgeous. We booked him through the resort and were very happy with his work. He made taking 700 photos (!!!) very fun and they were so beautiful! Overall our experience at Barceló was wonderful, the food was amazing and the resort was just beautiful. We could snorkel on the beach, the pools were wonderful, everything was very clean and the rooms were also very nice. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
I would encourage more couples to have a destination wedding, as long as your family and all the important people that you need to be there are willing to travel, it is genuinely a wonderful experience to share a vacation with everyone! We were exhausted when everyone left but we had a blast! To have a destination wedding you have to be an easy going bride though, and trust in your wedding co-ordinator! Unlike having a wedding here locally, you cannot go and taste the food you would be eating at different halls, or taste cake and pick your flowers! It takes away a lot of the stress and organizing on your own; you have an expert guiding you, and in our particular case they were the Absolute Wedsite and Barceló teams! I would definitely recommend them to other couples looking at a destination wedding. They truly know how to orchestrate weddings and make sure you as the bride feel special on your big day!
We first discovered Absolute Wedsite at the Toronto Bridal Show in early 2016. We were really wanting to have our destination wedding at one particular resort in the Bahamas, and we were not having luck with any reasonable group rates from other agencies (we were working with 6 different agencies). We kept being told to look at other resorts and destinations, as the one we wanted was not within our budget. One week after the bridal show, Absolute Wedsite sent us an amazing group rate for the resort we wanted, which we snatched right away. We will never forget the excitement we felt that day…it felt like they made what seemed impossible, possible! We also met Raj in person, who is the Owner and President of the business. I cannot express how wonderful Raj is. She truly cares about her clients and is such a kind and caring person. Her great customer service was absolutely exceptional and put our minds at ease. We found out that they also provide other services such as event planning, photography, videography, etc. which sets them apart from other travel agencies we’ve worked with. We would not for a second hesitate to recommend Absolute Wedsite for your destination wedding! Thank you so much for making our wedding dreams come true!!!
